The LCI's carried detachments of almost as many units as the craft made trips. They lifted not only British and Canadian troops, as on the assault, but also took Americans to their beaches which badly needed-troops to roll back the enemy during the first few days and shortly became the crowded springboard of the great American drive from St.Lo. During June, according to the somewhat vague records kept by the LCI's, troops of the following units were carried:
