It would serve no useful purpose to describe in detail the work of each individual LCI during the build-up period but the job they did may be summarized in the form of a table showing the numbers of troops carried from England to Normandy by each craft during June. For comparison the numbers carried on the assault are shown as well as the numbers carried on each day of the buildup. The date indicates the day when the troops were disembarked on the beaches of Normandy. Craft which took part in the beach head ferry service are denoted by an asterisk and their work is analysed in a further table below.
