    Namesake
    SSG Leroy F. Wells - (12 July 1932 - 27 December 27, 1970) SSG Wells, a US Army Water Craft Operator, attached to 1st Logistical Command, 4th Transportation Cmd, 1099th Transportation Company at Advanced Tactical Support Base (ATSB) Ca Mau, Vietnam. SSGT. Wells was killed in the 27 December 1970, attack on ATSB Ca Mu came under by enemy mortar and B-40 rocket attack. SSGT Wells’ LCM-8 ("Mike") was hit by enemy rocket fire and he was killed.
