  • Laid down 1901 as the towboat S.P. Gillet at the Howard Shipyard, Jeffersonville IN.
  • Launched in 1901
  • Delivered 1901
  • Sold in 1917, renamed A.F. MacArthur
  • Acquired by the US Army Engineers in 1920
  • Assigned to the US Army Engineers Loiusville District
  • Commissioned in 1920 and placed in service as USED Towboat MacArthur
  • MacArthur was employed on the Missouri River
  • Retired from US Army service, circa 1939
  • Sold, circa 1939 to private owner, renamed Miriam Werner
  • Final Disposition, beached out at Baton Rouge in 1945, partially dismantled but refloated again in 1946. Used to furnish steam for a barge cleaning operation.
