The replacement of the aging crane and successful completion of the load test allows the Buffalo District to resume their mission while ensuring the safety of the public and the Corps of Engineers workforce. The converted Crane Barge McCauley (BD-2979) will be back to work until the season ends on November 9, 2018, and again in 2019 and 2020.
