  • Renamed SS J.E. Gorman in 1927
  • Title acquired by the War Shipping Administration, 21 July 1942, from the Great Lakes Transit Corp.
  • Allocated to the War Department, 16 March 1943
  • Modified for service as a Marine Repair Ship at Mobile, AL., dates unknown
  • Re-launched, 9 February 1943, at Mobile, AL
  • Commissioned USAMRS J.E. Gorman, 5 September 1944, was operated by a Coast Guard crew with administrative control retained by the Army
  • USAMRS J.E. Gorman was assigned to the Southwest Pacific Area during World War II
  • Decommissioned, 20 March 1947
  • Delivered by the War Department, 29 March 1947, to the War Shipping Administration for lay up in the National Defense Reserve Fleet, Olympia, WA.
  • Purchased, 29 December 1947, by the Great Lakes Transit Corp.
  • Withdrawn, 29 December 1947, from the Olympia Reserve Fleet and delivered to Great Lakes Transit Corp.
  • Resold in 1948 to Panagua Steamship Co., Inc., Panama, renamed SS Adelaide reflagged Panama
  • Final Disposition, arrived in Japan, 6 December 1953, for Scrapping
