  • Built in 1927 as the passenger ship SS Shawnee at Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock, Co., Newport News, VA.
  • Launched in April 1927
  • Delivered in 1927
  • SS Shawnee began her merchant service with the Clyde-Mallory Lines between New York, Florida and the Caribbean ports
  • Acquired, 18 December 1941 from Agwilines. Inc. by the War Shipping Administration
  • Reallocated, 18 December 1941, to Agwilines, Inc., under a General Agency Agreement
  • Assigned, 20 September 1942, to the War Department, sub bare bottom charter to Agwilines Inc.
  • During World War II USAT Shawnee operated in both the Europe-Africa-Middle East and Asiatic-Pacific Theaters
  • Returned to the War Shipping Administration, 4 March 1946, who in turn re-delivered the ship to Agwilines Inc.
  • Sold, 11 March 1947, to Iberian Star Line and renamed SS City of Lisbon, reflagged Panama
  • Sold in September 1947 to Yugoslavia interests, renamed SS Partizanka
  • Final Disposition, destroyed by fire while undergoing repairs in Split in August 1949
