Munalbro served both the U. S. Army and Navy.


Freighter:

  • Built in 1916 by the Newport News Shipbuilding Co., Newport News, VA
  • Chartered by the Army in September 1917
  • Acquired by the Navy 17 September 1918 at Newport News and commissioned USS Munalbro the same day
  • Decommissioned 21 March 1919 at New York and returned to the United States Shipping Board for return to her owners
  • Renamed James L. Richards in 1936
  • Scrapped in 1954.

  • Depth of hold 26' 11"
