Menhaden Fisherman:

  • Built in 1887 by the Alberton and Douglas Machine Co., New London, CT
  • Rebuilt in 1912/1913
  • Commissioned 20 May 1917 at Berkley, VA
  • Delivered to the Navy 18 June 1917
  • Decommissioned 24 January 1919 at Norfolk, VA
  • Returned to her owner 28 March 1919
  • Fate unknown.

    Specifications:

  • Displacement 67 t.
  • Length 122'
  • Beam 19' 6"
  • Draft 10'
  • Speed 11 kts.
  • Complement 26
  • Armament: One 1-pounder
  • Propulsion: One Locomotive boiler, one 100hp vertical compound steam engine, one shaft.
