Beaumere II (SP 444)


Motorboat:

  • Built in 1914 Madge II by the Gas Engine and Power Co., and the Charles L. Seabury Co., Morris Heights, NY
  • Renamed Beaumere II
  • Acquired by the Navy 28 June 1917
  • Commissioned USS Beaumere II (SP 444), 22 October 1917
  • Decommissioned 24 February 1919, struck from the Navy list and returned to her owner
  • Renamed Beaumere
  • Sold in 1929 to the Marine Sales and Service Co., of New York City
  • Remained in civilian service into the late 1940s
  • Fate unknown.

    Specifications:

  • Displacement 12 t.
  • Length 64' 10"
  • Beam 10' 9"
  • Draft 3'
  • Speed 22.5 kts.
  • Compliment: Six
  • Armament: One 1-pounder and one Colt machine gun
  • Propulsion: Two 144hp 6-cylinder Speedway gasoline engines, two shafts.
