70' Vosper Motor Torpedo Boat:

  • Laid down 31 July 1945 by Annapolis Yacht Yard, Inc., Annapolis, MD
  • Launched 8 September 1945
  • Completed 21 September 1945
  • Struck from the Naval Register 28 November 1945
  • Transferred to the War Shipping Administration 18 July 1947
  • Acquired in 1967 by George H. Martini of Bradenton, FL for use as a yacht and named Endeavor II
  • Currently owned (2012) by the Liberty Aviation Museum of Port Clinton, Ohio and undergoing restoration back to its original Vosper design.

    Specifications:

  • Draft 4' 9"
  • Speed 40 kts.
  • Complement 12
  • Armament: Two 21" torpedoes, two twin .50 cal. machine guns and one 20mm mount
  • Propulsion: Three 1,500shp Packard W-14 M2500 gasoline engines, three shafts.
