70' Vosper Motor Torpedo Boat:

  • Laid down 4 April 1945 by Annapolis Yacht Yard, Inc., Annapolis, MD for lend-lease transfer to the Soviet Union
  • Launched 11 May 1945
  • Completed 30 May 1945
  • Transfer to the Soviet Union canceled due to cessation of hostilities
  • Struck from the Naval Register 28 November 1945
  • Transferred to the War Shipping Administration in July 1946
  • Sold 16 August 1946, converted to a private yacht and named Carol-Flo
  • Converted to a party fishing boat at Ocean City, NJ and renamed Gone with the Wind
  • Acquired by Captain John DeRose of Point Pleasant Beach, NJ and renamed Wanderer
  • Moved to Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn, NY and renamed Apache IV
  • Renamed Atomic in 1987
  • Dismantled in 1988 at Brooklyn.

  • Draft 4' 9"
  • Speed 40 kts.
  • Complement 12
  • Armament: Two 21" torpedoes, two twin .50 cal. machine guns and one 20mm mount
