PT-512 served the Navies of the United States and the Soviet Union.

80' Elco Motor Torpedo Boat:

  • Laid down 18 October 1943 by the Electric Boat Co., Elco Works, Bayonne, NJ
  • Launched 7 January 1944
  • Completed 9 February 1944
  • Placed in service 15 February 1944 and assigned to Motor Torpedo Squadron THIRTY FIVE (MTBRon 35) under the command of LCDR Richard Davis, Jr., USN
  • MTBRon 35 had action in the English Channel area from June to November 1944, when orders were received to prepare the boats for delivery to the Soviet Union
  • Transferred to the Soviet Union 30 December 1944 and reclassified TK-424
  • Struck from the Navy list and destroyed in 1954.
