YMS-1 Class Auxiliary Motor Minesweeper:

  • Laid down 14 August 1942 by the Campbell Machine Co., San Diego, CA
  • Launched 4 September 1943
  • Completed, transferred to Great Britian 1 January 1944 and reclassified HMS J-954
  • Reclassified HMS BYMS-2154
  • Struck from the Naval Register 19 May 1945
  • Returned to U.S. Navy custody in 1946
  • Transferred to the State Department, Foreign Liquidation Commission in December 1947
  • Fate unknown.

  • Draft 8'
  • Speed 15 kts.
  • Complement 32
  • Armament: One 3"/50 dual purpose gun mount, two 20mm mounts, and two depth charge projectors
