  • Launched 1 February 1952
  • Commissioned USS Rival (AM-468), 3 September 1954
  • Reclassified as an Ocean Minesweeper, MSO-468, 7 February 1955
  • Decommissioned 15 May 1970
  • Struck from the Navy Register 1 February 1971
  • Sold for scrap in August 1971 to Charles Gural of Rahway, NJ for $2,700.

  • Armament: As built, one 40mm gun mount and two .50 cal. machine guns, 40mm mount later replaced by one twin 20mm gun mount
