LCT(6)-1122 and others, await a LST to be lifted onto at the Pendleton Shipyard also known as the Florida Ave. Wharf. along the New Orleans, LA.
Industrial Canal. Sometime around July-August 1944. LSTs manufactured in the Great Lakes and Ohio River regions were ferried down the Mississippi River to New Orleans for final
outfitting, crewing, supplying and loading of a LCT if available. The majority of LCTs were loaded prior to the shakedown cruise and training at St. Andrews ATB at Panama City,
Florida, however, many LSTs returned to New Orleans, after the three weeks of training, to receive their LCT prior to release to the fleet.
