194k LCT(5)-145 picking up Fijian scouts and friendly natives and their families on Bougainville, Island, Solomon Islands, who were trapped in the Sisivei sector by a superior Japanese force. The Fijians who were surrounded on three sides and retreating toward House Kiape on Atsina Bay, made their plight known by means of a native runner. LCTs and LSTs were sent to pick them up. When the ship's reached them the Fijians had made a complete withdrawal to the beach and were awaiting their deliverance.
