  • Converted to a Close-in Fire Support Vessel and redesignated Landing Craft Infantry (Guns) LCI(G)-372, 15 June 1944
  • During World War II USS LCI(L)-372 / LCI(G)-372 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater:
    LCI Flotilla Three; and
     LCI Flotilla Six, CDR. A.R. Montgomery USN;
     LCI Group Seventeen, LCDR. C. F. Robinson USNR;
     LCI Division Thirty-Three and participated in the following campaigns:

    Asiatic-Pacific Campaigns

    Marianas operation;
    Capture and occupation of Saipan, 15 June to 4 August 1944    		 Luzon operation;
    Lingayen Gulf landing, 9 January 1945

  • LCI(L)-372 / LCI(G)-372 earned five battle stars for WWII service in addition to the Navy Unit Commendation as a member of LCI(G) Flotilla 3 (31 January to 28 July 1944) for Occupation of Kwajalein and Eniwetok Atolls in the Marshall Islands and Capture and occupation of Saipan, Guam and Tinian in the Marianas
