  • Laid down in 1943, at New Jersey Shipbuilding Co., Barber, N.J.
  • Launched in March 1943
  • Transferred to the United Kingdom under terms of the Lend-Lease Act, commissioned HM LCI(L)-288, 24 March 1943
  • Transferred to the Canadian Navy, commissioned HMC LCI(L)-288, 8 March 1944, LT. Walter E. Charron RCNVR (Temp.) in command
  • During World War II HM LCI(L)-288 / HMC LCI(L)-288 served in the Europe-Africa-Middle East Theater
  • HMC LCI(L)-288 was assigned to the 2nd Canadian LCI Flotilla (Royal Navy Flotilla 264), and participated in the following campaign:
    Europe-Africa-Middle East Campaign
    Campaign and Dates
    Invasion of Normandy, 6 to 25 June 1944

  • Decommissioned by the Canadian Navy. 12 September 1944, returned to Royal Navy custody
  • Returned to US Naval custody, 13 March 1946
  • Struck from the Naval Register, (date unknown)
  • Transferred to the State Department for disposal
  • Final Disposition, sold in April 1946, fate unknown
