  • Launched, 17 March 1945
  • Commissioned USS LSM-488, 24 April 1945, LT. J.W. Allen USNR in command
  • During World War II USS LSM-488 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater:
    LSM Flotilla Sixteen;
    LSM Group Forty-Seven;
    LSM Division Ninety-Four;
  • Following World War II USS LSM-488 was assigned to Occupation service in the Far East from 2 September 1945 to 28 March 1946
  • Decommissioned, 14 October 1946, at Green Cove Spring, FL.
  • Laid up in the Atlantic Reserve Fleet, Florida Group, Green Cove Springs
  • Struck from the Naval Register, date unknown
  • Sold, 23 September 1958, to Ships & Power Inc., Miami, FL.
  • Converted to the self propelled clam shell dredge Maurepas (Call sign WP3118)
  • Register in 1960 to Jahncke Service of New Orleans
  • Maurepas worked in Lake Pontchartrain. LA. until 1990 when dredging was halted
  • Final Disposition, fate unknown
