Commander Goudreau was raised in Lawrence, Massachusetts. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1987 and was commissioned in 1997.
At sea, Commander Goudreau previously served as Executive Officer in USS Ashland (LSD 48). He served as Auxiliaries Officer in USS Cleveland (LPD 7), Assistant Operations Officer in USS Mount Whitney (LCC 20), Operations Officer in USS Carter Hall (LSD 50), and Operations Officer for Commander Amphibious Squadron 4/Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group. His enlisted tours include USS Salt Lake City (SSN 716) and DSRV 2 Avalon. He has served on 2 Western Pacific / Arabian Gulf deployments and 2 Mediterranean / Arabian Gulf deployments in support of Operations Southern Watch, Iraqi Freedom, and Enduring Freedom and also participated in counter piracy operations.
Ashore, Commander Goudreau served as Joint Task Force Logistics Officer for Commander Second Fleet, Rating Assignment Officer / Metrics Officer for PERS 40 at Naval Personnel Command, and as a student at the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey and the Italian War College in Rome, Italy. His enlisted tours include VQ-3 and STRATCOMMWING ONE at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma.
Commander Goudreau holds a B.A. in History from the University of Oklahoma, an M.B.A in Financial Management from Naval Post Graduate School, and a Post-Laureate Masters degree in International Military Strategic Studies from Roma Tre University.
While serving on the staff of Commander Second Fleet, the Operational Logistics team of which he was a part won the Admiral Stan Arthur Award for Logistics Excellence. His personal decorations include the Navy Commendation Medal (four awards) and the Navy Achievement Medal (three awards).
