CDR Gervy Alota is a native of Guam and raised in San Diego, CA. He spent a year at the Naval Academy Prep School before receiving an appointment to the United States Naval Academy. He graduated with a B.S. in Oceanography in 1998.
His initial sea duty assignments were in San Diego aboard USS JOHN A. MOORE (FFG 19) where he served as Anti-Submarine Warfare Officer and 1st Lieutenant and aboard USS PEARL HARBOR (LSD 52) where he served as the Auxiliaries Officer. His first Department Head tour was aboard USS COMSTOCK (LSD 45) where he served as the Chief Engineer. His second Department Head tour was as the Officer in Charge and Commissioning Officer of the very first Littoral Combat Ship Mine Countermeasure Mission Package Detachment.
CDR Alota's tours ashore include the Scheduler for Commander, Amphibious Group Three, Joint War Plans Officer for Commander, Third Fleet, and an Instructor for the Sea Combat Command Syndicate at Tactical Training Group Pacific.
CDR Alota received his Joint Professional Military Education from Command General Staff College in Fort Leavenworth, KS. At the same time, he earned his M.A. in Human Resource Management.
CDR Alota's awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation and Achievement Medals, the Army Achievement Medal and various unit and service awards.Comments, Suggestions, E-mail Webmaster. |
