     LCS(L)(3) Group Twelve, LCDR. B. D. Voegelin USNR;
     LCS(L)(3) Division Twenty-Two and participated in the following campaign:

    Assault and occupation of Okinawa Gunto, 26 March to 30 June 1945

  • Following World War II USS LCS(L)(3)-87 was assigned to Occupation service in the Far East from 2 September 1945 to 3 December 1945
  • Decommissioned, date unknown
  • Laid up in the Pacific Reserve Fleet, Columbia River Group, Astoria, OR.
  • Redesignated Landing Ship Support Large USS LSSL-87, 28 February 1949
  • Transferred to Japan, 30 March 1953, named Hamagiku (YS-91)
  • Returned to US custody, date unknown
  • Refitted as a drone carrier in 1958
  • Struck from the Naval Register in 1967
  • USS LCS(L)(3)-87 earned one battle star for World War II service
  • Transferred to the Philippines 17 November 1975, for spare parts, never commissioned
