After being placed in commission Ibex reported for duty with the Mississippi Squadron's 8th District, at Memphis, TN., 29 April 1865
While in the squadron Ibex assisted Rear Admiral S. P. Lee in attending to many of the innumerable tasks entailed in closing the Mississippi Squadron.

Sold, 17 August 1865, at public auction at Mound City to Thompson Dean
Redocumented as Harry Dean, 5 October 1865
Final Disposition, lost when she exploded at Gallipolis, OH., 3 January 1868
