  • Laid down in June 1863 at Charles W. McCordat Sr. St. Louis, MO.
  • Launched, 14 July 1865
  • Completed and delivered to the US Navy at Mound City, IL. for lay up in 1866
  • Renamed Iris, 15 June 1869
  • Moved to New Orleans and laid up there
  • Commissioned, USS Iris, 17 September 1874
  • Decommissioned and laid up at New Orleans, 15 October 1874
  • Final Disposition, sold for scrapping in 1874

    098608905    		 40k Monitors laid up at Mound City after the war, about 1868. The stern-wheeler USS Neosho is in center, looking aft. Yuma, Shiloh, and Klamath of the Casco class are at left. In the rear at right is one of the Marietta class with funnels abreast, and her sister can be seen behind Neosho. No photographs exist of the Marietta-class ships.
