USS Fort Henry was assigned to the East Gulf Blockading Squadron, Key West, FL. arriving 2 June 1862
Apprehended one sloop in 1862, and in 1863, took four schooners, four sloops, and one smaller craft
Participated in an expedition to scout the coast between the Suwanne River and Anclote Keys in April 1863, in company with
USS St. Lawrence and
USS Sagamore taking a sloop off Bayport 9 April, engaged an enemy battery and set a schooner on fire
Fort Henry sent her launch to reconnoiter the Crystal River, 20 July 1863, an expedition in which two of her men were killed by fire from the shore
Decommissioned at New York, 8 July 1865
