  • Purchased from the prize court 12 October 1863
  • Commissioned, USS Calypso, 24 September 1863, Acting Master Frederick D. Stuart in command
  • During the Civil War USS Calypso was assigned to the North Atlantic Blockading Squadron, off Wilmington, N.C.
    Captured the blockade runner schooner Herald, 24 October 1863
    Supported troop landings and forced evacuation at New River Inlet in June 1864
    Captured the blockade runner Lady Sterling with the assistance of USS Eolus and USS Fort Jackson, 28 October 1864
  • Decommissioned, 15 August 1865, at Washington Navy Yard
  • Sold for mercantile service, 30 November 1865, at New York
  • Final Disposition, fate unknown
