ST Mount Vernon (AOT-5075)


Mount Washington Class Tanker:
  • Laid down in 1960, as ST Mount Vernon Victory, at Bethlehem Steel Corp. Quincy MA.
  • Launched in 1960
  • Acquired by the US Navy for the Maritime Administration’s Ready Reserve  Force (RRF) in 1988
  • Renamed Mount Vernon and assigned the designation AOT-5083
  • Accepted into the RRF and placed in a retention status at the Beaumont Reserve  Fleet at Beaumont, TX, 31 March 1990
  • Downgraded to National Defense Reserve Fleet  (NDRF) status in fiscal 1995
  • Further downgraded to non-retention  status in October of 2007 
  • Final Disposition, sold for scrapping, 22 March 2013, to All Star Metals LLC, withdrawn 22 March 2013
