Purchased from Lykes Bros. Steamship Co., 12 September 1986, by the US Department of Transportation, Maritime Administration

Assigned to MARAD Ready Reserve Force, (RRF) as SS Cape Mohican (AKR-5065)

SS Cape Mohican departed her layberth at Oakland, CA., 9 July 2021, under tow by the Foss tug Denise Foss enroute to the National Defense Reserve Fleet, Beaumont, TX. ETA Beaumont early August.
