Rincon Class Gasoline Tanker:
  • Laid down, 19 February 1945, as MV Tarcoola, a Maritime Commission type (T1-M-BT2) tanker hull, under Maritime Commission contract (MC hull 2639) at Todd Shipbuilding, Houston, TX.
  • Launched, 15 March 1945
  • Delivered to the Maritime Commission, 12 September 1945, for operation under contract as a merchant tanker, renamed Belridge
  • Acquired by the US Navy, 14 August 1950
  • Placed in service by the Military Sea Transportation Service (MSTS) as USNS Nodaway (T-AOG-78), 11 September 1950
  • Placed out of service and delivered to the Maritime Administration (MARAD) at Mobile, AL., 11 December 1959, for temporary custody in full lay-up status
  • Re-acquired by the US Navy and placed in service in August 1965 as USNS Nodaway T-AOG-78)
  • Assigned to the MSC Ready Reserve Force (RRF) in October 1995, custody remained with MARAD, berthed at Tsuneishi, Japan
  • Downgraded from RRF status for disposal, pending sale, 30 September 2006
  • Final Disposition, disposed of by MARAD sale, 16 December 2006, to Teroaka Company of Japan
