  • 01 November 1942: Launched and christened, sponsored by Mrs. Bessie Edsall Bracey, sister of Seaman Edsall
  • 10 April 1943: Commissioned at the Orange City dock, Lcdr. E. C. Woodward in command
  • 11 June 1946: Decommissioned at Green Cove Springs, Fla. after 3 years and 2 months of service
  • 01 June 1968: Struck from the NVR
  • July 1969: Sold for scrapping

    225k April 1943: Weighing anchor, aboard USS Edsall (DE 129) at Bermuda. Edsall departed the Naval Station, Algiers, La. on 05 May 1943. After a quick fueling stop at Miami, Fla. she arrived in Bermuda on 11 May. She conducted crew shakedown exercises until 06 June and headed for Boston Navy Yard. Commissioned on 10 April 1943, Edsall was a school ship at Norfolk, 20 June to 06 August 1943, training precommissioning crews of escort vessels, then at Miami with the Submarine Chaser Training Center thru March 1944.
