The Baltic Sea, 11 June 2002 - The Danish HDMS Hvidbjoernen (F 360), British HMS Chatam (F 87), and U.S. guided missile cruiser USS Cape St. George (CG 71) cruise in formation during the joint combined exercise BALTOPS 2002. The United States and 11 other nations are participating in this year's exercise. BALTOPS 2002 is intended to improve interoperability between allies and Partnership for Peace countries by conducting a peace support operation at sea including exercises in gunnery, replenishment-at-sea, undersea warfare, radar tracking, mine countermeasures, seamanship, search and rescue, maritime interdiction operations, and scenarios dealing with potentially real world crises.

The Cape St. George is deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, the multi-national coalition effort to liberate the Iraqi people, eliminate Iraq’s weapons of mass destruction, and end the regime of Saddam Hussein.

Twenty-two nations, more than 40 ships and six submarines, more than 200 aircraft and 25,000 personnel are participating in RIMPAC exercise from 26 June to 1 August, in and around the Hawaiian Islands.

In October 2019 it was announced that Chosin would be shifting to Seattle, WA to complete a Depot Level Modernization Period at Vigor Marine's Harbor Island facility starting in December 2019.
