    21k USCGC White Pine (WAGL-547) underway off the Coast Guard Yard at Curtis Bay, Baltimore, MD, 09 August 1948, six days after being commissioned into the US Coast Guard. Note the original crane and hoisting mechanism and two additional piles (spuds) that drop into the water's muddy bottom to steady the vessel while working.
