    1.R.W. Huntington, often cited as name for this vessel, appears to have never been taken up. Presumably it was intended to honor LTC Robert Watkinson Huntington USMC (1840-1917). As commanding officer of 1st Marine Battalion (Reinforced) he led the capture of Guantanamo Bay from the Spanish in June 1898.
