  • Converted for Naval service, 2 June to 10 August 1942
  • Commissioned USS YP-421, 6 August 1942
  • During World War II USS YP-421 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater and participated in the in the following campaign:
    Asiatic-Pacific Campaign
    Campaign and Dates
    Luzon operation
    Lingayen Gulf landings, 9 to 18 January 1945
  • Decommissioned, 31 March 1946
  • Struck from the Naval Register in 1946
  • Transferred to the Maritime Commission in October 1946, for disposal
  • Sold for commercial service, date unknown
  • Approximately 1980 abandoned at Ridley Cove, Cundys Harbor (Harpswell), ME.
  • Final Disposition, scrapped in 1991
  • USS YP-421 received the Navy Unit Commendation for service in Salvage, Fire Fighting, and Rescue Unit, Service Force, 7th Fleet - Philippine Islands area, 3 March to 6 June 1945,and earned one battle star for World War II service.
