  • Built by Concrete Ship Constructors, National City, CA as Concrete No. 5 a non-self propelled Maritime Commission type (B7-A2) barge hull (MC 638)
  • Laid down, 06 December 1942
  • Launched, 23 March 1943
  • Acquired and placed in service as YOG-42, 22 May 1943
  • During World War II YOG-42 was assigned to the Asiatic-Pacific Theater
  • Tug USS Navajo (AT-64), towing gasoline barge YOG-42, was sunk by Japanese submarine I-39, 150 miles east of Espiritu Santo on 12 September 1943. YOG-42 was undamaged and recovered by Sioux (AT-75)
  • Redesignated YOGN-42, May 1946
  • Struck from the Naval Register, 15 August 1949
  • Final Disposition, intentionally beached on north coast of Lanai, Hawaiian Islands, circa 1949-50
