  • Mizar was assigned to the Naval Ordinance Testing Station, Long Beach, CA
  • Used as mother ship for remote controlled submersible CURV (Cable-Controlled Underwater Recovery Vehicle)
  • Reclassified Miscellaneous Unclassified IX-505 and name withdrawn, 01 November 1976
  • Placed out of service and struck from the Naval Register, date unknown
  • Final Disposition, disposed of, sold by Defense Reutilization and Marketing Service (DRMS) for reuse/conversion, April 1979
