Majestic (SP 3061)


Paddlewheel Steamer:

  • The second Majestic was built in 1903 as Happy Day by Lewis Nixon, Elizabethport, NJ
  • Acquired by the Navy 30 August 1918 and commissioned USS Majestic (SP 3061) the same day
  • Returned to her owner 24 March 1919
  • Abandoned in 1928
  • Fate unknown.

    Specifications:

  • Displacement 717 t.
  • Length 201' 10"
  • Beam 30'
  • Draft 10' 3"
  • Speed 12 kts.
  • Complement 27
  • Propulsion: One Marine leg boiler, one 750hp verticle beam steam engine, two paddlewheels.
