  • Built in 1913 as Lewis K. Thurlow by the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co., Newport News, VA
  • Launched 4 October 1913
  • Delivered 14 November 1913
  • Acquired by the Navy 25 November 1918 at Barry Docks, Wales, United Kingdom and commissioned USS L. K. Thurlow (ID 2987-A) the same day
  • Decommissioned 27 March 1919 at Philadelphia, PA, struck from the Navy Register and returned to her owner
  • Acquired by the Eastern Transportation Co. for use as a coastwise barge and renamed Ajax in 1937
  • Scrapped in August 1951.

  • Depth of hold 22'
  • Draft 23'
