Motorboat;

  • Built in 1906 by Van Sant Brothers, Port Republic, NJ
  • Acquired by the Navy in May 1917
  • Delivered 20 August 1917
  • Commissioned Helena I (SP 24), 7 September 1917 at Key West, FL
  • Renamed SP-24 in 1918
  • Decommissioned 27 August 1919 at Key West and sold
  • Wrecked by a hurricane 11 September 1919 before delivery
  • Struck from the Navy list 4 October 1919.

  • Beam 10'
  • Draft 3'
  • Speed 10 kts.
  • Complement: Four
  • Armament one machine gun
  • Propulsion: One 16hp Globe, heavy duty engine, one shaft.
