SC-1628 built for The Netherlands.
SC-1627 Class Submarine Chaser: Built under Off Shore Procurement under the terms of the Military Defense Assistance Pact. Built to a Netherlands design, but similar to American SCs in characteristics but different in appearance. Laid down, 10 October 1953 by the Rijkswerf Willemsoord, The Netherlands; Launched, 24 April 1954; Completed, 9 August 1954 and transferred to The Netherlands as Bulgia (P 803); Laid up in 1986; Commissioned as a Training Ship for the navy to train midshipmen and Petty Officer's in navigation and seamanship; Transferred to the Sea Cadets 1 March 1996. On 1 May 1996 T.S. Bulgia ended her active duty for the Royal Netherlands Navy and was given on loan to the Alkmaar Sea Cadet Corps.
Specifications: Displacement 169 t.; Length 119'; Beam 20'; Draft 6.2'; Speed 15.5 kts.; Complement 27; Armament one 40-mm, three 20-mm, one mousetrap, two depth charge racks and two k-guns; Propulsion diesel, two shafts.
