PC-1507 served the Navies of the United States and the Soviet Union

SC-497 Class Submarine Chaser:

  • Laid down 15 July 1943 by Harris and Parsons Inc., East Greenwich, RI
  • Launched 26 January 1944
  • Commissioned USS SC-1507, 15 May 1944
  • Transferred to the Soviet Union 4 July 1944 and reclassified BO-224
  • Arrived in Polyarny, Murmansk 25 August 1944 and became a member of the Northern Fleet
  • Designated as a training vessel 15 January 1945
  • Sunk 2 March 1945 by the German submarine U-995 off the Kildinsky Reach, Murmansk, Soviet Union.

  • Displacement 105 t.
  • Length 110' 10"
  • Beam 17'
  • Draft 6' 6"
  • Speed 21 kts.
  • Complement 28
  • Armament: One 40mm gun mount, two .50 cal. machine guns, two depth charge projector "Y Guns," and two depth charge tracks
  • Propulsion: Two 1,540bhp General Motors (Electro-Motive Div.) 16-184A diesel engines, two shafts.
