SC-1482 served the Navies of the United States and the Soviet Union
SC-497 Class Submarine Chaser:

  • Laid down 18 May 1943 at Rice Brothers, Rockport, TX
  • Launched 14 December 1943
  • Commissioned USS SC-1482, 27 June 1944
  • Transferred to the Soviet Union 8 August 1944 and reclassified BO-232 and placed in service
  • Placed out of service 25 November 1946 and laid up
  • Sunk 25 June 1956 off the Kildinskiy Reach by agreement with the United States.

  • Propulsion: Two 880bhp General Motors 8-268A diesel engines, two shafts.
