SC-497 Class Submarine Chaser:

  • Laid down 15 April 1943 by Rice Brothers, Rockport, TX
  • Launched 16 October 1943
  • Commissioned USS SC-1481, 16 May 1944
  • Transferred to the Soviet Union 27 June 1944 as BO-221
  • Placed in service 5 July 1944
  • Arrived in Polyarny, Murmansk 25 August 1944 and became a member of the Northern Fleet
  • Participated in the Petsamo-Kirkenes Offensive in October 1944
  • Became a member of the Baltic Fleet 23 November 1945
  • Placed out of service 29 June 1955 and returned to U.S. custody
  • Fate unknown.
