SC-1373 served both the U. S. Navy and Coast Guard.

SC-497 Class Submarine Chaser:

  • Laid down 23 December 1942 as PC-1373 by Fellows and Stewart, Inc., Wilmington, CA
  • Reclassified SC-1373 in April 1943
  • Launched 19 June 1943
  • Commissioned USS SC-1373, 1 November 1943 under the command of LTJG Robert W. Hahn, USNR
  • Decommissioned 30 January 1946, transferred to the Coast Guard and commissioned USCGC Air Wren (WAVR 480) the same day
  • Struck from the Naval Register 25 February 1946
  • Sold 22 September 1947
  • Acquired in 1950 by Thomas J. K. Clairmont of Seattle, WA and renamed Isle of Capri
  • Used as a towboat in 1953 and later as a fishing vessel
  • Out of documentation in 1986
  • Fate unknown.

  • Draft 6' 6"
  • Speed 21 kts.
  • Complement 28
  • Armament: One 40mm gun mount, two .50 cal. machine guns, two depth charge projector "Y Guns," and two depth charge tracks
  • Propulsion: Two 1,540bhp General Motors (Electro-Motive Div.) 16-184A diesel engines, two shafts.
