PGM-61 was built for South Vietnam

PGM-59 Class Motor Gunboat:

  • Laid down in 1963 as PGM-61 by J. M. Martinac Shipbuilding Corp., Tacoma, WA
  • Delivered 9 April 1963, transferred to South Vietnam and named RVNS Nam Du (HQ 607)
  • Fate unknown.

    Specifications:

  • Displacement 130 t.
  • Length 101'
  • Beam 22'
  • Draft 8' 6"
  • Speed 18 kts.
  • Armament: One 40mm mount, two twin 20mm mounts and two .50 cal. machine guns
  • Propulsion: Two 975bhp MB820 Mercedes Benz diesel engines/eight 250bhp General Motors 6-71 diesel engines, two shafts
