Calamianes


Calamianes served the Navies of Spain and the United States.

Gunboat:

  • Laid down in 1887 for the Spanish Navy by Cavite Naval Dockyard, Luzon, Philippine Islands
  • Acquired by the Navy in 1899
  • Commissioned 25 July 1899 at Cavite
  • Decommissioned 7 August 1902 at Cavite
  • Struck from the Navy list 22 May 1907 and sold
  • Fate unknown.

    Specifications:

  • Displacement 173 t.
  • Length 100'
  • Beam 17' 6"
  • Draft 6' 9"
  • Speed 8 kts.
  • Complement 27
  • Armament: One 3-pounder, two 1-pounders and two Colt machine guns
  • Propulsion: Two 125ihp vertical compound engines, two shaft.
