BPT-64 served the Navies of Great Britain and Italy.

BPT-21 Class Motor Torpedo Boat:

  • Laid down 3 March 1943 as BPT-65 by Annapolis Yacht Yard, Annapolis, MD
  • Launched 15 June 1943
  • Transferred to Great Britain 17 November 1943 and named HM MTB-375
  • Completed 19 November 1943
  • Returned to U.S. Navy custody 15 October 1945
  • Struck from the Naval Register 28 November 1945
  • Transferred to Italy in February 1947 at Palermo, Sicily, reclassified as a Torpedo Recovery Craft
    Naval Vessel Register of 1 January 1949 lists transfer to the State Department, Foreign Liquidation Commission as January 1948
  • Cannibalized for spares and scrapped.

    Specifications:

  • Armament: One twin .50 cal. Vickers machine gun in Mk V turret, two 21" torpedoes and two depth charges
  • Propulsion: Three 3,600shp Packard W-14 M2500 gasoline engines, three shafts.
