PCE-827 Class Patrol Craft Escort:

  • Laid down 30 March 1943 as PC-835 by the Pullman Standard Car Co., Chicago, IL
  • Reclassified PCE-835 in April 1943
  • Delivered 3 September 1943
  • Transferred to Great Britian 30 October 1943
  • Commissioned HMS Kilhampton (BEC 9) in November 1943 under the command of T/Lt. Murdock Malcolm MacKenzie, RNVR
  • Reclassified Z-09
  • Laid up in reserve in July 1945 at Sheerness, England
  • Transferred to the State Department, Foreign Liquidation Commission for disposal in November 1946
  • Returned to U.S. custody 10 December 1946
  • Struck from the Naval Register in 1947
  • Sold to Greece in 1948 and renamed Georgious F.
  • Scrapped in 1970.

  • Draft 9' 8"
  • Speed 15 kts.
  • Complement 100

  • Propulsion: Two 900bhp General Motors 12-567A diesel engines, Falk single reduction gear, two shafts.
