PC-461 Class Submarine Chaser:

  • Laid down 2 January 1943 by the Consolidated Shipbuilding Co., Morris Heights, NY
  • Launched 27 February 1943
  • Commissioned USS PC-1202, 23 June 1943
  • Transferred to the War Shipping Administration 10 December 1947, sold to the Dominician Republic and named Capitan Wenceslao Arvelo (P 102)
  • Renamed and reclassified Patria (P 202)
  • Placed out of service in 1962
  • Fate unknown.

  • Armament: One 3"/50 dual purpose gun mount, one 40mm gun mount, five 20mm guns, two rocket launchers, and two depth charge tracks
  • Propulsion: Two 1,440bhp Hooven-Owen-Rentschler R-99DA diesel engines (Serial No. 7005 and 7006), Westinghouse single reduction gear, two shafts.
